A woman has been left badly shaken after a man broke into her home outside Newry.
It happened on the Tullymore Road in Poyntzpass yesterday evening.
Detective Constable Foley said: "It was reported that at approximately 6.00pm on Wednesday 7th June, a male, described a wearing a green jacket and beige cap, gained entry to a property on the Tullymore Road, Poyntzpass. The female occupant in the house then disturbed the burglar who made off on foot.
"The female occupant of the house was left badly shaken as a result of the incident.
"We are appealing to anyone that may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time or to anyone who may have witnessed a black Corsa in the area, shortly before 6.00pm that may be able to assist with enquiries to contact detectives at Lurgan Reactive and Organised Crime Branch on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 1072 of the 07/06/17.
"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
