12000 gather in Belfast to call for Irish Language Act

The words of Ciarán Mac Giolla Bhéin, organiser of a rally to call for an Irish Language Act.

Thousands of people marched through Belfast city centre today to support the calls.

No restrictions were put in place by the Parades Commission.

Q Radio News has been speaking to some of the younger people in attendance.

We asked them their reasons for being there.

Meanwhile there was a counter protest organised by a group of loyalists.
