Thousands of people marched through Belfast city centre today to support the calls.
No restrictions were put in place by the Parades Commission.
Q Radio News has been speaking to some of the younger people in attendance.
We asked them their reasons for being there.
Meanwhile there was a counter protest organised by a group of loyalists.
