Trading Standards will be talking about scams at a public meeting in Rathfriland.
Home safety and personal safety will also be on the agenda.
It follows the release of figures that revealed a sharp increase in financial fraud in the UK.
Statistics showed that from January to June a con was committed every fifteen seconds.
South Down MLA Jim Wells was recently a target of online fraud,
"Be careful out there because crime is moving from bank robbery to cyber crime. That is the most rapidly growing crime in the world."
The public meeting will start at 7pm at the fire station in Rathfriland.
