Wells says family members use RHI boilers

The former Health Minister says said he felt it was important to make the information public

Jim Wells has revealed his brother, two cousins and the husband of another cousin all operate RHI boilers at their respective chicken farms.

There's no suggestion they're being operated inappropriately.

Mr Wells told Q Radio it's crucial to be completely transparent about any involvement with the Renewable Heat Incentive.

The veteran DUP man said he had no financial interest in the farm businesses, but said he felt it was important to make the information public.

His announcement comes ahead of next week's scheduled publication of the names of all the beneficiaries of the green energy scheme.
