John McGuinness, seriously injured during last week's North West 200, has thanked well-wishers.
The 45 year old rider from Morecambe broke his right leg and three ribs when he crashed during practice last Thursday.
He's sent a message from his Royal Victoria Hospital bed, stating that he and wife Becky are 'overwhelmed' by the support from fans and colleagues.
John McGuinness admits his recovery is 'going to be a long road', but says he'll patiently 'take each day as it comes'.
