A woman in her forties and a man in his twenties have been treated for smoke inhalation after their house in the Glenrosa Link area of north Belfast was the subject of an arson attack.
Just after 4:30am, Police received reports that petrol had been poured through the letterbox of the house and set alight, causing extensive damage to the porch, hallway ceiling and upstairs floor of the property.
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire.
Enquiries are continuing into the arson attack with police appealing for any witnesses to come forwards.
