A 29 year-old man has been charged following a cross border police pursuit which ended in Co Down.
It's after a silver Honda Civic was detected on the A1 Northbound Carriageway just before midnight last night.
It's understood the vehicle was involved in other offences earlier in the evening, before making it's way across the border towards Newry.
The car was found badly damaged a short time later in the Forkill Road area of the city.
The is accused of a number of offences includingdriving a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition, driving with no insurance and possession of a Class B controlled drug.
He is due to appear before Newry Magistrates Court tomorrow.
Inspector Stewart said: “This is another example that highlights the success of our partnership with An Garda Síochána in tackling crime along the border area.
