Last week it was announced that St.Mary's High School was no longer under threat of closure, as it was originally proposed by the Catholic Council for Maintained Schools.
They delivered a development plan in September stating the school would close in August 2018 but have now withdrawn that.
Since the news, a Parents Action Group has been exploring new ways that they can develop the school and post primary education in the rural area of Brollagh.
Jane Weir, the secretary of the action group has been telling Q Radio that they've had a number of meetings this week to gain more knowledge of the different options that the school has.
Ms Weir says they're in a period of 'fact finding' and seeking what the best solution for the school to move forward and enhance what's already there.
In October, a public meeting was held and different aspects arose about integration, shared education and cross border education, therefore at this stage the parents council is taking all of that in to account when seeking the best route for the school to go.
While no decisions will be made any time soon, parents along with the school itself, will be seeking the best education system that will suit their children and the local people of Fermanagh.
