The Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar visited Belfast on Friday to make a key note speech at Queen's University Belfast.
Following the speech he met with members of Northern Ireland's political parties.
When the floor was opened for questions, the Taoiseach was asked directly to restate his commitment to the A5 WTC (Western Transport Corridor) scheme.
Q Radio spoke to West Tyrone's MP Barry McElduff who made the request to the Taoiseach while in Belfast.
He said £75 million will be contributed to the construction of the A5 from the Republic of Ireland.
The MP also mentioned that the Taoiseach said he was "determined" to see this road built and gave his assurance that it would be completed.
