Newry Chamber of Commerce will attend today's all-Ireland forum on Brexit.
CEO Mary Meehan says it's no secret the Chamber 'deeply regrets' the referendum outcome.
She told Q Radio despite this they realise businesses on both sides of the border, have the same goals.
"We are an ally - we want to ensure the best possible outcome for the island of Ireland. We recognise that cross-border trade is fundamental to the island of Ireland... where we live on such a small island we need to keep the border open.
She added, "We want to work for the best possible outcome in terms of... keeping that free movement of trade, the free movement of people which is so vital for this border area."
