A 52-year-old woman has been arrested by police investigating the allegations of ill-treatment of patients at Muckamore Abbey hospital.
She was detained in the Antrim area this morning and is the 17th person to be arrested as part of the major probe which was launched in 2017.
Earlier this month, it was announced seven people have been informed they are to be prosecuted by the Public Prosecution Service for a range of offences, including alleged ill-treatment and wilful neglect contrary to the Mental Health Order 1986.
The PPS said another eight people had been reported in a second investigation file.
It remains under consideration.
