A 32-year-old man is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates' court later this morning, after a samurai sword was recovered during an incident in Larne.
A man suffered a number of injuries to his body after being attacked in the Glynn Road area of the town yesterday.
The suspect has been charged with a number of offences including common assault, criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and theft.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man arrested on suspicion of driving when unfit through drink or drugs and using a motor vehicle without insurance, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
