Residents have expressed shock following a domestic incident which resulted in around a dozen police officers being drafted onto the streets of north Belfast.
A PSNI spokesperson said police received a report of a person in distress at a property in the Forthriver Dale area of north Belfast shortly before 6:55pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 31st March).
"A man, aged in his fifties, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and two counts of assault on police," they added.
"He is currently assisting police with their enquiries."
