THE Ballymena Bear has made a dazzling return to the small screen in ‘A Miracle on Broughshane Street’ (Ballymena Bear 2)

The follow up to Bertie’s heartwarming quest last Christmas to be reunited with his owner, Bertie the Ballymena Bearfalls out of his owner’s car and is left in the carpark. Exploring, he finds an abandoned female bear, unlike him she hasn’t been brought to life…

He remembers that Christmas magic brought awakened him and decides to try and help her. Travelling throughout the town, he finds inspiration and buys gifts. Switching on the lights starts the Christmas magic and Bella the Ballymena Bear comes to life! They fall in love and shortly after, the little girl returns and takes both of them home.

Alison Moore, Ballymena Business Improvement District (BID) Manager, said; “The story of Bertie the BallymenaBear meant so much to people last year that we wanted to build on that and do something fun with Bertie again this year. We’re so happy to introduce Bella the Ballymena Bear, she makes the perfect counterpart to our Bertie!

“A Miracle on Broughshane Street gives just a small taste of what Ballymena has to offer. At Ballymena BID we’ve been busy preparing for the festive season, we hope it’s going to be a busy few weeks as there’s so much happening in the town. I’d like to encourage shoppers and visitors to discover what Ballymena means to them.”

In the lead up to Christmas, every Saturday this December, the Ballymena BID in association with Mid and East Antrim Borough Council will have entertainment to ensure shoppers and visitors enjoy their time in the town.

Kicking off the December fun will be Q Radio’s outside broadcast from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday 3rd December 2016, where Steve Turnbull will broadcast live from Ballymena. There will also be a host of spot prizes available to lucky visitors too!
