There are reports Bombardier is in talks to sell its Belfast wing-making operations to an American firm in a 1-billion-dollar deal.
The Canadian manufacturer employs more than 3-and-a-half thousand people in its Northern Ireland division - which it put up for sale in May.
Two other factories - in Morocco and Dallas - would be included in the sale to Spirit AeroSystems.
The Reuters news agency says confirmation could come later today.
Neither company has commented on the speculation.
The Belfast Bombardier factory builds wings for Airbus planes, and is the largest hi-tech manufacturer in Northern Ireland.
The company is in the process of restructuring after a turbulant period which resulted in hundreds of job losses several years ago.
