A security alert in Cookstown has been declared an 'elaborate hoax'.
The alarm was raised shortly before 1 this afternoon following the discovery of a suspicious object on the Burn Road.
A number of nearby residents that were forced to evacuate have been allowed to return home.
The security alert in Burn Rd, Cookstown has ended. The suspect device has been examined and declared an elaborate hoax. Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact detectives at Cookstown on 101 quoting ref 493 23/02/19 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
