Coleraine born Maggie O'Farrell shortlisted for a Costa Book Award for the third time
Maggie O'Farrell has been shortlisted in the awards for a third time, having previously won the 'Best Novel' category in 2010. The category award winners will be announced on 3rd January, with the overall Book of the Year Award winner being named on January 31st.
Maggie was nominated for her novel 'This Must be the Place.' She's the author of seven novels, including 'The Hand That First Held Mine', which won the 2010 Costa Novel Award. She currently lives in Edinburgh.
Originally known as the Whitbread Book Awards, they recognise some of the best work by authors living in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
