NI Water has started work on a new "storm and foul sewer" on the Old Dundonald Road.
It's anticipated that the work will take approximately 5 weeks to complete.
The proposed construction work involves the installation of sewers starting from the entrance to Hanwood Business Park and Filling Station, progressing towards the new Quarter Wood development before the roundabout.
Work will commence with the connection to the existing sewers located around the entrance to Hanwood Business Park.
Due to the location of this connection point, it will be necessary to undertake a short section of works at night.
This work will take approximately 10 nights to complete with work being carried out between 7.00pm and 6.00am.
A spokesperson for NI Water says the firm "will endeavour to minimise noise as far as possible during these night time works."
Alongside this, sewer laying will progress towards the new housing development; we anticipate that two- way traffic can be maintained for this section of work.
Normal working hours on this section of work will be 8.00am to 5.00pm; however, it may be necessary at times for work to be undertaken outside of these hours.
