County Antrim's Dark Hedges may eventually be closed to vehicles.
The Department of Infrastructure is proposing to shut the road, made world-famous by the television series "Game of Thrones".
It's believed increased tourist traffic on the road is causing extra wear and tear.
More than 150 beech trees were planted at the Dark Hedges in the 18th century, but only about 90 remain.
