Disappeared victim Seamus Ruddy's remains to be returned home

The remains of Disappeared victim Seamus Ruddy are being brought back to Northern Ireland from France today.

The teacher from Newry was abducted in Paris in 1985, before being murdered and secretly buried by the INLA.

The 32-year-old's remains were found around one month ago in a forest near Rouen.

The Independent Commission for the Location of Victims Remains narrowed the search area after recieving new information several months ago.

Seamus will be waked from his sister's home later this month after the Coroner in Dublin completes legal paperwork. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Catherine's Dominican Chapel in Newry on June 17.

Anne Morgan also appealed for information about three of the Disappeared victims whose bodies have not yet been found.

She said she hopes Joe Lynskey, Columba McVeigh and British soldier Robert Nairac will all be found soon.

'The Disappeared' is a term used to refer to the 16 people who were abducted, killed and secretly buried by republicans during the Troubles.
