A Causeway Coast and Glens Councillor says he feels lets down by his party after receiving a six month suspension.
Adrian McQuillan says the disciplinary action by the DUP follows a so called 'saga' surrounding the recent council election.
The former MLA's been a member of the party since 1996 and has been involved in a number of controversies throughout the years.
Q Radio asked the DUP for a statement, but the party has yet to respond.
Cllr.McQuillan insists he will continue to deliver for constituents during that time but refused to comment on weather he was considering quitting the DUP and becoming an independent councillor.
"It's very harsh I have to say" said the councillor.
"When I look at suspensions others got within the party for doing a lot of things."
"Some of the stuff was, they said I used 'unuathorised posters'."
"I used my former MLA posters and they only had my name on them, but by the time I put those up I was the only candidate nominated."
