Several people have escaped injury in an early morning lightening strike in Downpatrick.
One house was struck by a lightening bolt which started a fire which then spread to a second property in Kingsfield Avenue.
The occupants of both houses were alerted by smoke alarms and managed to escape.
A neighbour described being wakened by the thunder and a loud bang. He looked out and saw flames raging through an adjacent house.
