Her comments are on the heels of MLA Claire Sugden's call for cash and support for carers.
The Independent Unionist claims possibly millions of pounds are saved by the NHS because of the sacrifices carers make, but support for this unique grouping is thin on the ground.
Carer Lauren hopes to set up a support group for carers in the North Coast area after her experiences and those she's heard from others.
She told Q Radio why the group, which is due to launch in November, is a necessity for so many. She started by describing her son Tyler's needs:
