The widow of an IRA man murdered more than forty years ago is suing the Chief Constable of the PSNI for damages.
Betty Leonard's husband Louis was found shot dead in his Derrylin butcher shop just before Christmas in 1972.
Betty Leonard has accused the then RUC of a complete failure to investigate Louis' murder.
She believes the police protected people they knew or heavily suspected of involvement in the murder.
At the time of his killing 26 year old Louis was a member of the south Fermanagh brigade of the IRA.
The family believes that a recently published book “A State in Denial” brings to light that Louis’ murder and the subsequent investigation was part of an organised campaign of state sponsored terrorism.
Last month the High Court made an order that the PSNI should hand over all documents relating to the investigation of the murder.
