This May is Huntington's Disease Awareness Month.
HD is a rare neuro-degenerative disorder that kills the neurons in the brain.
It causes a lack of control over movement, behaviour, ability to speak and swallow.
The disease also causes an involuntary, distinctive movement called chorea.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will be illuminating Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre in Omagh today (15th May) to raise awareness of the condition and to highlight the work of the Huntington's Disease Support Group based in Omagh.
(Enniskillen Castle lit up purple and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh).
The Huntington's Disease Association Northern Ireland are also raising awareness on social media.
They're encouraging facebook users to change their profile picture as they use the hash tag #LightItUp4HD
