Cookstown-based energy firm LCC Group has bought Cloghan Point Oil Terminal near Carrickfergus.
It’s been purchased from AES Power in a multi-million pound deal.
The company plans to invest £15m in the facility to make room for the docking of 120,000 tonne tankers.
It says this move could lead to energy cost savings for businesses and consumers in the future.
