The Foreign Secretary will be in Belfast today to hold political discussions on the Northern Ireland protocol with the First and Deputy First Ministers.
Liz Truss says she's adopting a constructive approach to UK/EU negotiations and would like to see a breakthrough by mid February at the latest.
Officials on both sides are continuing negotiations this week and Ms. Truss will meet again with European Commission vice-president Maros Sefcovic next week.
Meanwhile, the fall out from the protocol will be debated in the Stormont Assembly today.
Agriculture minister Edwin Poots has submitted documents seeking executive support for sea port checks.
However, Sinn Fein claims Stormont already has a legal obligation to enforce the checks and that the executive took the decision some time ago that Mr. Poot's department should carry them out.
