Local groups get Lottery cash boost

Thirteen local groups and organisations here have been given £10,000 of Lottery cash each.

Newry City's disability club is among the recipients, as are Newry and Mourne deaf club and Newry Shamrock Youth club.

The grants were given as part of the Awards for All Scheme.

Newry and Mourne Deaf Club based in Rostrevor received a grant of just over £6,000.

The groups will use the cash to improve services for their users including trips, updated equipment and courses on contemporary issues.
