A man's been left in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed near Belfast City Centre.
Police say the victim, aged in his 40's, was attacked at the rear of the Waterfront Hall near Lanyon Place at around 11am on Friday morning.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "This incident has left a man in hospital in a serious condition.
"Enquiries are underway and we are working to establish a motive and apprehend those responsible.
"I'm appealing to anyone who may have been in the area of the blue metal footbridge at the rear of the Waterfront Hall this morning.
"Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see the incident, or any one running away from the scene? "
Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
Officers remained at the scene close to the Lagan Railway and Pedestrian Bridge until lunchtime.
People in nearby office blocks reported seeing police and ambulance crews attend the scene.
