A man has been arrested in connection with an aggravated burglary in south Belfast.
Two people returned to their property in the Wolseley Street area at around 7.30pm to find an intruder inside, armed with a knife.
The suspect then fled the scene, dropping the knife.
Police say car keys, a wallet and an Amazon Echo device were taken during the incident.
A short time later, a man matching the suspects description was spotted in the Botanic Avenue area of the city a short time later,heading towards the direction of Mount Charles.
He smashed a glass bottle on a Police car before fleeing.
The 27 year-old suspect was later found on the roof of a building in the Gas Works area where he was arrested.
Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield said, "Our investigation is ongoing and we would continue to appeal to anyone with any information to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1911 of 15/02/21.
