A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault where a man was stabbed in Dundonald.
The incident happened on the Comber Road on Saturday night.
A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital after sustaining stab wounds to his head and upper body.
Yesterday, Sunday 7th June, police described the victim's condition as serious.
The 46-year-old suspect is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He is expected to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court today.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old woman has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
