Two men have been remanded in custody at Maghaberry after appearing in Newry court to face charges of GBH and attempted murder.
It's after a man in his forties was attacked on Friday and left with serious head injuries.
His condition is now described as stable.
Twenty year-old Michael Loughlin from Iveagh Close in Banbridge was charged with attempted murder, assaulting police, theft and criminal damage.
The second man, 22 year-old Shay Leonard of Willow Avenue in Banbridge was charged with GBH with intent and theft.
Both will remain at Maghaberry Prison until their next court appearance on August 17th.
