Police in Antrim have recovered more drugs and made further arrests connected to a recent ongoing investigation.
As part of follow up searches the District Support Team located suspected cocaine and cannabis and a sum of cash at a house in Antrim last Friday (August 8th). A further search of a property on Saturday (August 9th) in the Ballymena area resulted in the seizure of 18 bars of suspected cannabis resin with an estimated street value of approximately £10,000. A man and a woman both aged in their twenties were arrested in connection with the searches and released on bail pending further enquiries.
Chief Inspector Arthur Davidson said: “While it is deplorable that drugs and drug dealers exist within the community any action we can take to disrupt the sale and supply chain is to be welcomed. Our success against drugs would certainly be diminished without the active support of the community and I would again emphasise that any information you provide to us will be acted on.”
