Police in Mid Ulster were working in partnership with Customs yesterday morning to run a short operation in the Dungannon and Clogher areas
Their primary aim was to detect vehicles using illegal fuel.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said:
"In a few hours four, vehicles were detected running illegal fuel with their drivers receiving hefty on the spot fines and another being detected for no insurance.
"Those who choose to use illegal or laundered fuel are not only stealing from public services that the revenue funds, but are also providing financial support to organised crime and terrorists who are behind much of the illegal and laundered fuel."
