The Oxford Bulls Down Syndrome football team will be taking part in the Christmas lights switch on in Derry-Londonderry this week, alongside Mayor Maolíosa McHugh and Santa Clause.
The bulls rose to instant fame earlier this year when Republic of Ireland winger and Derry man James McClean got behind their campaign to play against local soccer teams.
A video of the team playing with McClean emerged and went viral on social media, not only gaining the attention of other local clubs but were recognised bye the likes of major football team Manchester United.
A spokesperson for Derry City and Strabane District Council says:
"Santa has confirmed he is delighted to be meeting the Oxford Bulls and that he'll be bringing his famous festive cheer to Derry".
This will also be the first year pyrotechnics will be used for the big arrival of Santa, therefore parents will small children should be aware that they could be surprised by the pyrotechnics, or people who suffer from conditions triggered by flashing lights.
