Newry Mourne and Down locals are being urged to get involved with Neighbourhood Watch schemes after a surge in burglaries in the Bessbrook and Camlough areas.
Locals have been living in fear and anger after more than fourteen break-ins or break-in attempts were reported in less than two weeks.
Police had a break-through when the car linked with the burglaries was found, seized and forensically examined.
It was the result of vigilance by the public.
