Derry City and Strabane District Councillors have failed in a bid to stop price rises at leisure facilities across the area.
The prices rises are due to come into effect from Saturday and one of the increases will see the price of a pitch rental rise from £25 to £33.75.
Affected facilities include the Foyle Arena and Templemore Sports Complex amongst others.
Chief Executive John Kelpie told councillors that due to the fact the price rise had already been agreed there were now effectively asking to rescind the agreement which takes six months prior notice.
