The Protection from Stalking Bill has passed in the Assembly.
The new legislation will make both stalking and threatening or abusive behaviour an offence.
Justice Minister Naomi Long told Assembly members today that - in the absence of a budget - she cannot give an assurance on resources for the bill.
She said stalking destroys lives and this is an opportunity to better support victims.
