The Respiratory team at the South West Acute Hospital has been recognised for their asthma care.
They won the Asthma Project of the Year Award category, at the Northern Ireland Healthcare Awards held at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.
They were joint winners with Dr. Keith McCollum.
In recent years the Respiratory team has been improving and developing new services which now include; Respiratory Outreach Clinics, Virtual clinics and email advice service.
They have also introduced "respiratory medicine teaching sessions" for both primary and secondary care staff.
By introducing these new services, it created a more efficient way of working and they were able to save costs, while still receiving excellent patient feedback.
