A young boy has been stabbed to death in Dublin.
He died at a house in the Crumlin area of the city, and gardai said the death was being treated as homicide.
A woman in her early 40s was injured in the incident. It is understood she also suffered knife wounds.
She has been taken to St James' Hospital where her condition is described as serious.
Gardai were called to the house in Poddle Park on Monday evening.
The state pathologist has been notified.
The house has been sealed off for an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
An incident room has been established at Crumlin Garda Station.
