Two men aged 32 and 56 have been arrested in connection with an assault in East Belfast.
A man was struck several times on the head and face in the attack in the Bloomfield Court area early this morning.
His injuries aren't believed to be life threatening.
A car was also damaged in the incident.
Detective Sergeant William Arnott said:
“At approximately 6.30am this morning police received a report that a man had been assaulted. He was struck several times on the head and face."
“One car was also damaged."
“The victim was attended to by NIAS at the scene, however he did not attend hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening."
“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information that could assist us with our enquiries to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 546 22/09/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
