Detectives are investigating an attempted robbery at a shop on the Killeavy Road.
It happened at around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon.
Two men, one believed to be carrying a hatchet, entered the premises and demanded money.
Police say no money was handed over and nobody was injured.
The pair left the scene and were last spotted heading in the direction of Derrybeg Drive.
Police have described one of the suspects as being around 6" of slim build with short brown hair and wearing black bottoms and a green rain coat.
The other man has been described as being around 5'8" tall, medium build with short, dark hair and wearing dark trousers and a black/navy rain coat.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact detectives at Ardmore Police Station on 101 quoting 950 of 26/9/18.
