A woman has been rescued after a fire broke out in a ground floor apartment near Main Street in Portrush.

The extent of her injuries remains unknown.

A number of appliances were dispatched to the scene on Kerr Street this afternoon.

The road remains closed off.

Councillor Norman Hillis has praised emergency crews for their quick response.
