Linfield warmed up for Friday's big Belfast derby at Crusaders with a 7-0 demolition of Gary Hamilton's Glenavon. 

Northern Ireland international Shayne Lavery hit a 10-minute hat-trick in the opening quarter of an hour at Windsor Park on Saturday.

The victory moves Linfield into fourth place in the Danske Bank Premiership, seven points behind early leaders the Crues with three games in hand.

Meanwhile, Crusaders are five points clear at the top after a 5-2 home win over Glentoran.

Ballymena beat Cliftonville 2-1 and it was the same margin of victory for Dungannon over Carrick. 

Coleraine against Larne finished scoreless.

Institute won for the first time this season, 3-1 at Warrenpoint who remain rock bottom after eight successive defeats.
