The Russian, who controversially beat Ireland's Michael Conlan will not take part in the semi-finals.

Vladimir Nikitin, who defeated the Irish boxer in the quarter-finals in Rio, will not fight in the semi-final.

The Russian beat the Team Ireland boxer after a unanimous vote, with the Belfast man demonstrating his frustration and disbelief at the result.

His decision not to take part in the semi-final is due to injuries sustained in his opening two wins.

Conlan insisted he would quit the amateur sport, while the Judges who adjudicated the fight have since been sent home from Rio.
