A suspicious object which sparked a security alert in Ballycastle has been declared a hoax.Army bomb teams were called to the garden of a house on Quay Road earlier.
It's understood the item was discovered by residents who had been cutting grass.
The object has been taken away for examination and all roads have been re-opened.
Glens Independent Councillor Padraig McShane who lives nearby said "We have had a number of hoax or suspect packages which have turned out to be false.
"Whomever is responsible, the alerts are creating hardship and fear within the local community.
"No violent Republicanism is present in the area.
"That leads to unanswered questions about the security apparatus and connections to Loyalist Paramilitaries
"I wish to seek further clarity around the composition of the device before commenting further".
