Police have named he man who died in the crash in County Down yesterday afternoon.
He was 32-year-old John Joseph Blaney from the Mearne Road area of Downpatrick.
The crash happened on the Ballagh Road between Newcastle and Annalong around lunchtime.
A PSNI statement said:
Police can confirm the man who died in the road traffic collision yesterday afternoon (Friday 19th July) between Newcastle and Annalong was 32-year-old John Joseph Blaney from the Mearne Road area of Downpatrick.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the Ballagh Road.
Mr. Blaney was travelling in a Citroen and was involved in a collision with a Skoda Octavia close to the Bloody Bridge shortly after 12.30pm.
Two people who were travelling in the Skoda did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Inspector Johnstone is appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Ballagh Road yesterday afternoon and who witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any dash cam footage of the collision, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference 782 of 19/07/19.
