Police in west Belfast are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of criminal damage at a primary school in the Glasvey Drive area of Dunmurray.

Inspector White said: “Police received a report on Friday, 1 July of a wooden play set being damaged which is believed to have occurred sometime on Wednesday, 22nd June, evening.

“It was reported to police that three young males, wearing dark clothing and with their hoods pulled up, climbed over a fence and entered the outdoor play area.

“They then damaged a wooden play set by scrawling graffiti on it with a red pen.

“The three males then left the grounds after a short period and no further damage was caused.

“I would appeal to anyone involved in this kind of anti-social activity to stop and would also urge anyone with any information or concerns to contact our Neighbourhood Team.

“Our investigation is now underway and we are appealing to anyone who may have any information or CCTV or dash-cam footage which can assist us to contact 101 quoting reference number 1142 of 01/06/22.”

Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
