South Antrim MLA David Ford's church minister is expected to be absent from his congregation until well into the New Year.
Rev. James Tosh stepped aside from Second Donegore Presbyterian Church last week.
A month earlier ex-Alliance leader Mr Ford was banished from his eldership role there for supporting gay marriage.
Mr Tosh hasn't been suspended from Second Donegore's ministry, and remains in good standing.
